Course Description

Life sciences consultants sit at the crossroads of business and biology, helping pharmaceutical and biotech companies bring innovative healthcare solutions to patients. The experience of a PhD program equips students with the skills to be a successful consultant, but it can be challenging to know where to begin. Join UIC alumna, Dr. Alexandra Socovich, for an interactive seminar on life as a consultant, the transition from academia to industry, and perhaps even an answer to the question…what does a consultant do?

"Your Future in Science" is a seminar series designed for graduate research assistants and postdoctoral research associates. Held the 3rd Thursday of every month from 12-1 pm in COMRB, YFIS covers topics about career exploration and different career options, professional skills needed for career success, and preparing for the job search.
