This course is required by EHSO to meet the training requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for all researchers, students, faculty and staff working in laboratories with chemicals. Renewal of this training is required on an annual basis to meet regulatory requirements and maintain a safe workplace.
Course Goals:
Familiarize you with the basic tenants of laboratory safety, specific UIC policies, procedures, and resources, and chemical waste management and disposal procedures.
